BRIEF REV. PROFILE OF KEPHA NYANDEGA
Rev. Kepha Nyandega is the General Secretary of Evangelical Alliance of Kenya (EAK, www.eakenya.org). In this capacity, he is tasked with implementing the Alliance’s Vision, Mission, Objectives, and Strategy, as well as upholding sound biblical doctrine among EAK’s membership. As the GS, he serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Alliance, overseeing all matters pertaining to governance, regulation, leadership, administration, and management of the organization. The Evangelical Alliance of Kenya (EAK) is the umbrella body for Evangelical Churches and Organizations in Kenya and is a member of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA) and affiliated with the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), the evangelical global body representing over 700 million members. The vision of
EAK is a ‘movement of disciple-making churches impacting their society’; and her mission is to ‘unite and equip the evangelical clergy to succeed in their disciple-making mandate’.
An ordained minister by CITAM, Rev. Kepha is a born-again Christian development specialist with more than 23 years of working experience in Christian organizations contexts in Kenya with a specialty in managing programmes and people, church partnerships, missions mobilization, and interfaith engagement, children and youth development, education, and training, economic empowerment, health, peace and conflict transformation, environment, among others. He previously served as the Faith and Development Advisor at World Vision Kenya (https://www.wvi.org/kenya), where he was responsible for building partnership with churches and other faith actors; providing technical expertise and advisory for integration of Christian faith in World Visions’ Faith and Development initiatives; and providing spiritual nurture of staff in line with organizational policies and strategy. He has also served with Lifeskills Promoters (LISP) (www.lifeskills.or.ke), the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK, www.ncck.org) and the Fellowship of Christian Unions (FOCUS) Kenya (www.focuskenya.org).
He holds a Bachelor of Education (Sciences) from Egerton University and a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Africa International University (AIU). He serves on the Governing Council of Africa International University (AIU), as an executive Council member of the Interreligious Council of Kenya (IRCK), and in the governing board of Untold (www.untold.org). He previously served on the National Governing Council of the Fellowship of Christian Unions Kenya (www.focuskenya.org).
Kepha has been married to Florah for 21 years and they are blessed with 4 children. They worship at Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) Church in Nairobi, where has just (April 2026) completed his tenure as an assembly elder.
